Chelsea Leyland is a British DJ and medical cannabis/epilepsy activist based in Brooklyn, New York.
Chelsea has earned the moniker “fashion’s DJ” from her work in the fashion industry. She has been recognized for her eclectic DJ style. Chelsea’s deejay debut was at Valentino’s 2010 Fashion Night Out Celebrity Poker Tournament and has since DJ’d at a wide range of noteworthy events across the globe.Chelsea suffers from a type of epilepsy called ‘Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy’ (JME), which she has been battling since her early teens.In 2016, Chelsea made the strong decision to stop her pharmaceutical anti-seizure medications and treat her epilepsy solely with medical cannabis, documenting the process through her social media platforms. Thus becoming a leading advocate for the de-stigmatization of both epilepsy and medical cannabis. Chelsea is currently working on her first documentary ‘Separating The Strains’ which is expected to premier next year.Her story and advocacy-led work has inspired a generation of epileptics and medical cannabis users.
