Goldie

In the early 1990s, after discovering electro and hip hop, Goldie grew his hair – the “goldilocks” that won him his nickname – and joined a breakdance crew called the B-Boys in Wolverhampton. What followed was a series of inspired break-driven releases such as Killa Muffin and Menace. Then Terminator dropped and suddenly Goldie’s name was on everyone’s lips making 1995’s debut album Timeless the drum‘n’bass scene’s first platinum album. He then set up his own record label – Metalheadz – with his friends the DJ duo Kemistry and Storm. 

After a thriving music career, Goldie moved to acting. He reunited with Bowie  after co-writing with him on Truth in 1998 - in Andrew Goth’s 1999 thriller Everybody Loves Sunshine then had a part in the 1999 James Bond movie The World Is Not Enough. He then joined the cast of BBC1 soap opera EastEnders in 2001, playing Angel Hudson.

In 2007, Goldie returned to the art world with an exhibition, Love Over Gold. In 2008, he teamed up with Pete Tong to provide the artwork for Tong's new Wonderland club night at Eden nightclub in Ibiza.

Yogangster is the creation of Goldie who has been sharing his love of yoga around the world since beginning his practice in 2010. The launch of Yoganster’s first active wear and accessories collection was celebrated in Spring 2015.

In 2016, he was awarded an MBE.

Later this year, Goldie will be releasing a book entitled, ‘All Things Remembered' as well as commencing a UK tour for his new album ‘The Journey Man’ which was released in June.
