Zara McDermott is an inspiration to every young woman. Having started her career as a civil servant working for the UK government in Parliament, Zara was rapidly thrust into the public spotlight in 2018 after appearing on ITV’s award winning show ‘Love Island’. Zara’s down to earth, kind nature and her intelligent perspective won her an army of fans, and her following on Instagram has since grown to well over a million. Zara regularly works with brands to showcase the latest fashion and make up trends to her avid audience. Keen on fitness and clean living she founded ‘A Day with Zara’, a subscription platform where she shares balanced recipes and blog articles with her members. When it comes to traditional broadcast, in 2020 Zara worked with BBC3 to produce a documentary looking into the controversies around revenge porn and the distribution of non-consensual images. It was one of BBC iplayer’s most watched shows and the BBC have subsequently commissioned another investigative documentary. A previous victim herself, revenge porn is a cause Zara feels passionate about, and having teamed up with the charity Refuge to front their “The Naked Threat” campaign, Zara has recently found herself back in Parliament Square, helping them to successfully demand a change in the law.
