Miss Fame, whose real name is Kurtis Dam-Mikkelsen is a model, makeup artist, social media influencer, and recording artist. Born in San Luis Obispo, California in 1985. Kurtis moved to New York after working as a male editorial model and pursued a career as a makeup artist. Working under the liked of leading industry icon Pat McGrath, Kurtis perfected his craft and began to build a network of celebrity clientele. Around the same time, he began modelling and performing as a drag artist under the name Miss Fame.
In 2015, Miss Fame competed in season 7 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Following this success, she recorded her debut album, Beauty Marked.
In 2016, Miss Fame became an official spokes model for L’Oreal Paris and has since appeared in two global beauty campaigns with the brand. Miss Fame was the first drag artist to walk the red carpet of the Festival du Film de Cannes.
In September 2018, Miss Fame launched her own makeup line called Miss Fame Beauty. The first collection which includes creamy lipsticks and an iridescent glitter is entitled The Fetish of Fashion, a tribute to inspirations found from the fashion industry.
Miss Fame was featured in numerous publications including T Singapore (May 2019), Vogue Japan (Apr 2019), Vogue Taiwan (Apr 2019), OUT (Cover Aug 2018), PAPER (Apr 2018), LOVE (Feb 2018), V Magazine (Jan 2018),Tush (cover Sep 2017), Vogue Germany (Aug 2017), OUT, Cosmpolitan, ELLE, and others.
Today, in between working as a fashion model and makeup artist and educator, she maintains a YouTube channel where she hosts the mini-series “Painted by Fame”.
